I am currently an Administrative Assistant at the front desk of Radiation Oncology at the Dana Farber/Brigham & Women's Cancer Center at Milford Regional Hospital in Milford, MA. I maintain patient flow in and out of the department as well as manage the scheduling for a growing practice which now includes 8 physicians, including the Chief Radiation Oncologist. This is the most personally rewarding job I have ever held in all my years in the medical field.
I am the owner of my own Holistic Energy Therapy business. I use various energy techniques, including, but not limited to Reiki; Integrated Energy Therapy; Karuna Reiki; Kundalini, Diamond, Gold, Ethereal Crystal,& Tachyon Reiki; Petaltones Flower Essences for aura clearing and chakra clearing;Sound Therapy via the use of tuning forks tuned to the chakras for chakra clearing and balancing. All these are combined in an hour-long energy session which rebalances your energy fields, regulates your cellular system, and restores order on all levels. It's the most relaxing hour a human body can experience.
I currently work per diem at the nurses' station as a Unit Secretary on the cardiac unit known as Gannett. I am responsible for performing medical secretary tasks in regards to the 30-bed unit. I have been employed on Gannett since I started working here back in 2005.
I ran my own business, Emerald Wings Energy Therapy out of this Healing Center until it recently closed its doors in Aug,2008. In 2007 I was asked by the owner of the facility to take over the running of her Reiki Share on the first Friday of every month which I still run to this day. We are currently in the process of moving and expanding the Reiki Share to twice a month in two different healing spaces.
I was employed as a Unit Secretary in the Float Pool and traveled between 6 different units including the ICU, Maternity,Cardiac,Oncology and Surgical. I performed typical medical secretary functions of transcribing physician's orders and medicine orders as well as scheduling of Radiology and Lab testing for patients.
I volunteered my time to perform Reiki sessions on terminally ill patients on Hospice at local nursing homes.
