So, I've often times dipped into writing but not knowing how to construct something, not having the skills to hone a poem, I floundered and would loose interest in the current piece.
Despite not liking the Creative Writing Degree much (I only did about a year and left when the head lecturer told that ... despite my work being good I shouldn't be writing so much as they didn't have the time to read it) it did enable me to finish stories and poems and gave me the self confidence to do a few open mike slots for spoken word.
My main claim to literary fame is following an open mike slot at Hay on Wye Festival of Literature in 2011 the compere named me the 'Quentin Tarantino of British Poets' and was astounded that I wasn't published already - so publishers, what you waiting for? more
