I am a freelance digital illustrator specialising in producing contemporary images in a traditionally drawn style using Adobe Photoshop & traditional media.
I bring traditional draughtsmanship skills to modern media. I am highly influenced by illustrators of the nineteenth century (Beardsley, Tenniel, Rackham among others) and endeavour to bring a classic look to my work. However, I have an adaptable and easy style which makes me an appropriate choice for a wide range of projects and briefs.
I have an open and adaptive personal style of working with clients and am happy to take on new ideas and rework concepts with you to ensure your finished illustrations are exactly what you need. I am also a part of a collective of talented Illustrators who offer mutual support to make each others work of higher quality and they come free :)

I have Multiple Sclerosis which sometimes causes my hands to cramp up. A while back I developed a simple and intricate doodling style which I found helpful as an exercise before I started my "proper" work. After much prompting by friends (and as part of an MA in Design Practice) I am now developing some images in this style as a colouring book. The book is aimed at older children and adults and will be available in 2013.

Two day training course in Adobe Photoshop and digital image making for artists (adults). Covering basic use of Photoshop's range of tools to develop images from initial sketches and design ideas provided by the artists.
I provided a full colour cover and 130 black and white internal illustrations for the book "A Beginners Guide to Women's History" by Dr. Bonnie Morris, Professor of Women's HIstory at George Washington University. The book was published in February 2012.
I am working with writer and illustrator Simon Greaves to provide colour to his graphic novel format versions of Shakespeare's plays. These are intended as introductory texts and contain both the original dialogue and a contemporary translation. I have been adding digital texturing (photographic textures etc) and colouration to Simon's line work. We have completed A Midsummer Nights Dream (2009) and Romeo and Juliet (2010) and begine work on Macbeth in 2012.

I worked in the NHS from leaving school but predominantly in Psychiatry where I explored my fascination with human communication as well as my affinity for other people.
