35 years Experience In Supplying Building Aggregates From 1976 to 2011. May 1976 - Oct 2008 (32 years 6 months)

From 1976 until 1987 I worked for Daleford Estates Ltd as a driver on tippers working all over the Northwest area. In October 1987 I became an owner driver with my first six wheel tipper and worked ... J.Handford & Son of Manchester running out of Buxton Quarries. From there moved to Tarmac Ltd in Sandiway then on to Tilcon Ltd. When Tilcon and Tarmac amalgamated and Tarmac took the helm I was a sub-contractor but not contract to them, when work was thin on the ground I would find work for myself, individuals would ask me for quotes and I would deliver building aggregates to all, this is when I became an own account operator and left Tarmac and started working for myself. In the few years that I have been on my own it has been hard trying to get a clientele together but now in 2011 I am hopefully succeeding and have clients and small organisations up and down the country supply building aggregates in bulk to construction as well as farm holdings and general builders.
