Graphic Design Artist

Operate and manage the activities for the office of Professor Charles Vorosmarty, Distinguished Scientist; Director, Prof. of Civil Engineering, NOAA CREST.

•Arranged and scheduled international conference calls, overseas meetings, hotel accommodations
•Collected and submitted extensive scientific data to the National Science Foundation to receive government grants
•Arranged and scheduled all domestic and international travel for three Ph.D. professors
•Scheduled and organized individual calendars using Apple iCal for three Ph.D. professors

After honorably completing my two year contract with the U.S. Navy, I drilled one weekend a month, two weeks a year as an Active Reservist with unit FFG-39. In this capacity I continued to perform my graphic design functions as a Mass Communications Specialist and was solely responsible for every graphic design need of the unit. I also freelanced for individual unit members upon request.

• Correlated and processed invoices and purchase orders for payment
• Received and inputed incoming service calls from clients and customers
• Designed record keeping forms for use within office and updated as needed
• Provided administrative support for special projects to all office departments
• Organized, updated, and maintained entire filing system
• Entered accounts receivable data entry on a daily basis

As a Mass Communications Specialist in the US Navy aboard the USS Saipan, my duties specifically concerning graphic design included designing creative posters detailing the various activities of the ship, designing fliers for the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation department aboard ship (which is in charge of coordinating tours and trips within a foreign country), image correction for the photography shop, and updating images to the ship's web site. I also freelanced aboard ship designing tattoos and logos for US Navy sailors.

As a Graphic Design Artist, I design with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Fireworks to produce Posters, Logos, Business Cards, Flyers, Advertisements, Tattoo Designs, T-Shirts & Book Covers. As an Illustrator, the primary mediums I work with are pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, pastel, and pen & ink. Each medium is unique in that they demand a separate approach and application of my artistic talent, making versatility my primary asset. I illustrate in different styles as well, including traditional, expressive, abstract, cartoonist and am adept with color and black and white.
In unison, graphic design and illustration allow virtually no limits to interpreting whatever my imagination is required to create, enabling me to design with unlimited creativity and visual imagination. With this technique, I offer greater flexibility, variability, and choices that assures maximum artistic achievement in every design for every client. Though each medium has its own tools and character, the true artist not only masters each one individually, but combines and blends each together to achieve the ultimate artistic vision. As a graphic design artist & illustrator, this artistic vision is my constant thought and primary goal.
