Fashion Designer / Voluntary Sewing Tutor

Creative, dynamic and highly motivated individual with a wealth of experience demonstrated in the design and creation of women’s clothing in a career spanning 20 years. Experience has been enhanced with the development of improved technical skills and completion of a number of courses at the London College of Fashion, culminating with a BA (Hons) Fashion: Design & Technology Degree (Knitwear) in 2010. Currently seeking an opportunity to exploit creative flair and technical skills within a progressive organisation.

1 Successfully operating own small freelance women’s clothing design and dressmaking service for 20+ years, capturing client requirements, producing patterns and delivering high quality garments. Developed portfolio of clients securing high volumes of repeat business.
2 Developed excellent technical skills during degree course to include pattern cutting, drawing, illustration, dyeing techniques, knitwear techniques, selecting yarns, knowledge of knitting machines, creating fully-fashioned garments etc.
3 Developed expertise in both Photoshop and Illustrator.
4 Created and presented a number of fully-fashioned knitwear and jersey creations for fashions shows each year at the London College of Fashion.
