Working for the Holiday Inn, Cambridge (England) I was responsible for the planning events whether it be Weddings, Private functions and Christmas Parties. As part of this role I was responsible for:
* Taking events enquiries via telephone, email, fax or website referral.
* Design & tailor-make a package based on each client's requirements and budget.
* Promoting and up-selling the hotels features and benefits for private events by means of a full hotel show round.
* Making bookings in our Diary Management System.
* Regularly update clients on the progress of their booking, making appointments at regular intervals to discuss their requirements further and updating my records accordingly.
* Finally taking payment and doing a handover to our events team with detailed instructions and catering requirements.
I have worked for the Holiday Inn, Cambridge for the past 7 years and have gained a very larg amount of experience in the hospitality industry. I have completed my NVQ level 1 & 2 in hospitality and was responsible for conference and private events planning.
