As a rodbuster, for instance,to build a spreadfooter, first I will shake out the rods, mark them, lets say on 12 in. centers, build my template, getting perimiter bars set and tied(double wire.figure 8), set my endo, CORRECTLY, once template is complete, the laborers tote the rods in, droping them 1 @ a time, and with a good crew we can tie the rods as quickly as the toters can bring them. Once this is complete everybody starts tying the spreadfotter @ %30, %50, or whatever the specs. call for.
\ Over the yrs. I have built everything from beams piers spreadfotters(MATS),Birdsnest. When building a birdsnest, it is CRUCIAL, once template is complete, to make double sure the rods are on the correct mark, as I've beeb on a job building an ENORMOUS birdsnest, and @ the end it had to be torn apart(not the template, and retied, CORRECTLY, this time. Over the yrs. I've seen and done it ALL as a rodbuster, and I"M A DAMN GOOD ONE!! NO DOUBT. Also, I have supervised MANY jobs, over the yrs. Iwill be a driving force on ANY rod job I work on.I was taught by an old UNION HAND,the right way.I started busting rods in 1979 for $4.25 PER HOUR.Those days are behind me. I am also NCCER CERT. STRUCTURAL IRONWORKER since 2006. ALSO, I NEED A JOB IMMEDIATELY.

I started a a helper in the lay down yard @ Valero, in Port arthur,Texas. My duties every morning was to get a list of serial #'s locate all the parts,(BEAMS, VESSELS, STAIRWAYS,TOE PLATES,WHATEVER. Once complete, we would load the 18 wheeler down, put on my vest and escort the truck to the erection site, and get out of the way, as the journeyman connectors would take over from there. Once truck is unloaded, we go back to laydown yard and do it all over again. Eventually, I worked my way to site, started bolting up, rattling bolts(CORRECTLY). I did this for several months, eventually learning how to connect, sometimes while operating a manlift. I also learned to operate a drout, JLG,forklift, all kinds of light equipment. Truthfully, I dont consider myself a %100,FULL BLOWN CONNECTOR, but one day will be, but am a Darn good bolt-up hand. I tell you this not out of stupidity, but out of HONESTY. I earned my NCCER BADGE after only 17 months as a helper. In short, I consider myself a good hand and shall one day work my way to full blown connector!!!

I HAVE INSTALLED MANY DRAPES AND MINI BLINDS, AND EXCELL AT THIS BECAUSE OF MY EXTREME HEIGHT. 6'7' TALL. FIRST, YOU MAKE A RUN THROUGHOUT ENTIRE APT. COMPLEX, LAYING OUT BRACKETS, CURTAIN RODS, THEN COME BACK INSTALLING FIRST BRACKETS, THEN DRAPES, OR MINI BLINDS. IT IS A SYSTEM THAT WORKS VERY WELL.
