The Beginning

It all began with a bunch of trees in the back yard of our Co-founder and CEO, Iain MacDonald. Thanks to a long hot summer, these trees needed to be trimmed. So, Iain needed a tree cutter. After a slew of phone calls and emails to friends over a few weeks; he was still looking for a good tree cutter, someone he could rely on, and those trees were getting bigger and bigger.

Running out of time, he searched the internet. He ended up dealing with a long list of strangers and had no idea whether they were reliable or not. One guy even turned up with enough equipment to take down a medium sized jungle!

Then Iain realized: What if there was just one simple “go-to” place for finding people with any skill you need? Imagine that while there, you could instantly see if any of your friends know someone who has the skills you are looking for? That would make it easy to find people with any type of skill and to see your real life connections to them.

With very little effort you could find that skilled person to fix your sink, fill a role in your company, design your logo, babysit your kids… or anything else!

With that… SkillPages was born.
